Veterans Day is a time to hit pause and recognize the people who put everything on the line for our country. It’s not just another holiday or a day off work; it’s a reminder of the sacrifices our military service members have made and continue to make. On November 11th each year, we honor the men and women who served in the U.S. Armed Forces, past and present.
The History
Veterans Day started after World War I, which was called “the war to end all wars” back then. The fighting stopped on November 11, 1918, with an armistice signed to mark the end. One year later, Armistice Day was created to honor those who served in WWI. But after WWII and the Korean War, the day was renamed Veterans Day to honor all veterans who have served. In 1954, President Dwight D. Eisenhower made it a national holiday, dedicating November 11th to recognize veterans of all eras.
Why Veterans Day Matters to ISP
For us at Intuitive Self Protection, Veterans Day is more than a holiday; it’s a core part of who we are and what we do. Intuitive Self Protection is a subdivision of NLB Tactical, our military and law enforcement training branch, which has trained over 40,000 military and law enforcement operators. We have deep respect for those who put themselves in harm's way, training operators from some of the country’s most elite teams and special units to survive the threats they encounter daily.
Honoring Veterans in Action
This Veterans Day, we want to take a moment to thank the men and women who serve and have served. We’re honored to share a role in preparing them to handle life-threatening situations so they can come home safely. Let’s show our appreciation by standing with veterans, supporting their businesses, listening to their stories, and remembering the sacrifices they’ve made.
